Oregon vs Auburn

It looks like the BCS National Championship game will be number one versus number two once again. TCU has done everything and everything but no budge between the top two spots. Auburn looked like there title hopes were going to  be done until they came back from a 24-0 deficit. Auburn's Heisman hopeful Cam Newton led his team to victory only helping his chances at winning the Heisman. Oregon smashed Arizona to stay at the number one spot. TCU destroyed New Mexico, who just sucks. The only way TCU can jump Auburn or Oregon is one of them lose in there last game this weekend. Boise State put there 24 game win streak on the line against number 19 Nevada. Nevada came back from losing by 17 points to winning in overtime, destroying Boise's chances at an automatic bid. Boise State was ranked 4th nationally until losing, dropping them down to nine. Wisconsin and Stanford moved into the top five for the first time all year. Wisconsin, Ohio State, and Michigan State all hold a share of the Big Ten Title but the top ranked team in the last AP Poll gets the automatic bid. Wisconsin in my mind will get this bid. I believe that if this National Championship game will stay between Oregon and Auburn that this game could be one of the best in a long, long time. This game will be a shoot out and can go down as the best game in college history. I think in the end Cam Newton and Auburn will be the winners. The intended audience is for college football fans and sports fans. The purpose of this article is to shed light on how difficult it is to stay atop the top 25 teams in college football. This article also shows how hard it is for a non-BCS team to jump a BCS team.

Jimmie Johnson 5th Straight Cup Championship

Jimmie Johnson made history today. He became the first person to win five straight Nascar Cup Championships. He is the first driver in the sixty-two year history of Nascar to win four and now five straight. He started the season not so hot but ended the season finishing with nine consecutive top ten finishes. Jimmie won his fifth straight in his three hundred and twenty-seventh start. Denny Hamlin and Kevin Harvick were the best drivers all year statistics wise but Johnson always finishes the season as the number one. It was no different this year as he came into the last race having to lead the most laps or placing better than the other two drivers and Johnson placed 2nd to win the Cup Championship for a record fifth straight. There was a lot of drama these last three weeks due to a lazy pit crew making owner Chad Knaus switch to his other driver Jeff Gordon's pit crew. This came to help Johnson not only in this race but the previous races because of shorter pit stops. Denny Hamlin had a hard time racing all day as he crashed early in race. He restarted at the thirty-seventh spot limiting his chances of winning finishing the race in the 14th spot. Kevin Harvick took the lead late in the race but was penalized for speeding coming into pit lane and was moved back to the twenty-ninth spot. Harvick was the leader and the best racer in Nascar this year until Johnson made his remarkable run. There has been seven Cup Championships and Jimmie is the only driver in Nascar to compete in all seven. He deserves this blog and deserves every award he has been given. The attended audience for this article would be for die hard Nascar fans and also for sports fans. The articles purpose is to show how great of a driver Jimmie Johnson has become and how winning his fifth straight title may have made him the best driver of all time.

Manny Pacquiao: 8th Title in a Row

On November 13, 2010 in Dallas a fight for the ages was fought. Manny Pacquiao versus Antonio Margarito for the super welterweight title. Manny moved up two weight classes to try and win his eighth consecutive title, all in different weight classes. He weighed in on Friday at one hundred and forty pounds and Margarito weighed in at one hundred and forty-five. On fight night Manny weighed in again and weighed one hundred and forty-four while Margarito gained seventeen pounds in one night. This would show a tremendous size difference. In the end the size difference would show no help as Margarito was pounded each round. Pacquiao beat his opponent so bad he even thought during the tenth round the ref should have called the fight saying, "I told the referee, 'Look at his eyes, look at his cuts,'" Manny has so much heart and respect for his opponents, "I did not want to damage him permanently. That's not what boxing is about." If you watched the fight you could tell Manny was holding back on his power shots and was not hitting Margarito as hard as he could. Margarito's corner should have thrown in the towel after the fifth round, his right eye was swollen shut and soon his left was the same. His corner tried to call the fight but Margarito insisted to keep fighting, "There was no way I was going to quit. I'm a Mexican, we fight until the end," Margarito said to reporters. This pride may have cost Margarito the rest of his career, getting surgery today on his fractured orbital bone. Pacquiao won every round making the fight a shutout. Boxing needs to give everyone what they want to see with Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather going toe to toe. This article shows how dangerous Boxing can be as well as how great of a boxer Manny Pacquiao is. The intended audience of this article are for boxing fans as well as sports fans.

TCU and Boise State???

Do you believe it is fair for a one loss BCS team to play in the national championship game when there is one or two non-BCS team's that go undefeated? Some people believe that in fact the schedule for the non-BCS team is far less weaker than the one of a one loss BCS team, but some people like myself believe this is nonsense. I believe that this article is trying to shed light that TCU or Boise State can play with anyone. The two teams' in front of TCU in the poll are Oregon and Auburn who both are undefeated. TCU only chance to play in the big game is for one of these two teams' to lose. The last two opponents TCU has to play are terrible and are not a very good showing in schedule strength. The article goes on to say that if the Oregon and Auburn stay unbeaten then TCU will not jump either team and will be playing in a lesser bowl game, but if one of these two teams' get beaten than TCU has a slight chance to jump them based on strength in schedule for a one loss team. This articles purpose is to show that a non-BCS schools has a harder chance to play for a national championship even if they go 12-0 than a BCS team which has a stronger schedule and goes 11-1. I don't like this nor think it's fair. I believe if you go undefeated and one of the top two teams' lose than a non-BCS team then should be playing in the big game. The topic this article sheds light upon is the unfairness in college football and also a need for a playoff and not this stupid BCS mess. If there was a playoff instead of the computer generated way then this wouldn't be an issue. A playoff would make everything easier and more fair. The intended audience for this article are fans of college sports or sports in general and college coaches.
