Cam Newton-Heisman

On December 11th, 2010 Cam Newton became one of the greatest quarterbacks in College Football history. He won the prestigious Heisman award in a land slide. No one doubted that Cam would win this award but the real question is will he be able to keep it? He won the award over Andrew Luck of Stanford, Kellen Moore of Boise State, and LaMichael James of Oregon. Newton has had much of the media around him speculating that his father, Cecil Newton got money for Cam's acceptance in to Auburn. Newton received 729 first place votes but sadly 105 voters left him out of there top three. Newton led the way with 2,263 points while Andrew Luck was the closest with 1,079. The NCAA gave Cecil Newton very limited access to Cam and Auburn while the investigation goes on. Cam Newton in my mind is the best football player in the entire nation and deserved this award with no doubt, if his father did do something wrong Cam should not be blamed or in trouble. He had no idea his father was doing such an act. Newton and Auburn will play for this years National title. But as many know the winner of the Heisman have a very hard time in Championship game. If Newton decides to leave after this year to join the NFL he will be a first or second round and pick and could go down as one of the best players to ever play college ball. The intended audience is college sports fans. This article sheds light on Cam Newton and how all his work has payed off. The article purpose is to show how much Cam Newton deserved this prestigious award.
